WILD ISLES

A BESPOKE ESCAPE ON AN UNINHABITED ISLAND.

Specialist-led | Nature-focused

Disappear to an uninhabited island.

Spend your time learning from members of the RVIVAL Collective. We build each escape around your chosen island, the season and the skills you want to explore - bringing together the right specialists across land, coast, food and wild living.

Learn traditional skills, freedive for food, forage and cook over fire, abseil into hidden caves, camp off-grid or slow down with a personalised wellbeing retreat tucked away in nature. Each escape is shaped around the island, the season and what interests you.

PLAN YOUR ESCAPE

HOW YOUR ESCAPE TAKES SHAPE

Start by choosing between an island in the Inner or Outer Hebrides. If you’re unsure, we’ll recommend the island that best suits the experience you’re looking for.

Tell us what experiences resonate with you - from wildlife, wild food and stalking to navigation, freediving, traditional skills, movement and climbing. Or perhaps you simply want to spend private, uninterrupted and nurturing time in a wild place.

Spend three to four days with one specialist around their area of expertise or bring together different members of the Collective across the escape.

Routes, food, boats, accommodation, equipment and logistics are arranged around your group, the island, season and conditions.

OUR PARTNER ESTATES

This experience is available across two of our partner estates; while the core itinerary remains the same, there may be slight variations depending on location. Pricing differs for each estate, so please refer to the baseline costs below.

EXAMPLE ITINERARY

Inner Hebrides Island | 3 night escape in mixed accommodation | Based around the Land & Coast

We can help make your journey seamless by arranging one of the following transfer options:

  • Private transfers from Glasgow or Edinburgh.

  • Direct transfers from London or overseas.

  • Helicopter, private jet, seaplane, or private car - arranged  through trusted partners from your chosen location.

Upon arrival to the west coast, we’ll gear up and set off aboard a private boat, with a picnic lunch to enjoy on the water. As we explore the wild coastal waters, you’ll learn to set creels for crab and lobster, and fish for mackerel - gathering ingredients for your evening feast.

Back at your luxury accommodation, unwind with a restorative sauna session before some time to relax in your suite.

The evening brings a hands on  wild cookery experience. Guided by our chefs, you’ll prepare your catch and transform it into a seafood dining experience.

Overnight Stay: Luxury suites overlooking the sea.

After a nourishing breakfast, with expedition bags packed, we’ll travel by private boat to the shores of a remote, uninhabited island. From there, a short walk leads into the island’s ancient woodland, where you’ll spend the day with a traditional skills specialist learning the knowledge and techniques that once helped sustain those who lived and worked in these remote landscapes.

The day is hands-on, with the opportunity to learn traditional skills including net making, foraging, natural navigation, tracking wild boar and red deer, and primitive fire lighting. Along the way, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the woodland and the resources it provides.

As evening falls, return to the bothy to prepare dinner using traditional cooking methods such as smoking and underground ovens, before gathering around the fire to share stories and settle in for the night off-grid.

Begin the day with an optional sea dip or snorkel, followed by a hearty breakfast in the bothy, before setting out on a guided hike across the island. Along the way, your guide will share their knowledge of its plants and wildlife, alongside stories of the people who have lived here and on the surrounding islands.

The route takes you through varied terrain and opens up views across the sea, offering a deeper understanding of how the land, sea and changing seasons have shaped island life over generations.

For those who wish to add a little more adventure, join our remote ropes specialist* to abseil down the high cliffs on the island’s western side and into a whisky smuggler’s cave. Here, enjoy a dram before a boat collects you.

On the third evening, we’ll head to a neighbouring island to enjoy time in a seafront sauna, followed by a celebratory meal in an observatory overlooking the coast and surrounding islands.

A slow start to the day awaits. Enjoy a hearty breakfast and soak up the your surroundings of the luxury suites - perhaps sitting outdoors with your feet up, gazing out to sea - before your transport arrives to take you back to civilisation.

Sir David Beckham

“In the lead up to my 50th birthday last May-having planned some special events with my wife, Victoria, and our daughter, Harper-I wanted to take my three sons to the middle of nowhere in Scotland, on an excursion that would take us out of our comfort zones. Sadly, Brooklyn could not make it, but I had an amazing trip with Romeo and Cruz. We had the best time on a deserted island, fishing and eating the food we'd caught, before staying overnight in a bothy. We loved it.”

Hreggi Ingason

“It's impossible to describe a trip like the one we had to Scarba in words. It's an experience like none other. From cooking with local ingredients, using original methods, to hiking a charming and deserted island. The only downside was having to leave. What stood out though is getting to know Eliza, Zeki and the local people along the way. I hope I get to participate in what other adventures they might think of in the future!”
